Delete Cell (Excel Shortcut)

As the name is suggesting, delete cell refers to the deletion of the cell.

Excel also has the option to delete the specific cell or range of cells instead of deleting the entire row or column.

So, whenever the user wants to delete or remove any cell from the spreadsheet, he can delete that specific cell and adjust the data.

Steps to Delete Cell Using Keyboard Shortcut

1. First, select the cell(s) that you want to delete or remove from the spreadsheet.
2. After that, simply press the Ctrl + - keys together and you will get the “Delete” dialog box opened.
3. Now, choose the option in which direction you want to move the rest of the cells to replace the selected cell to adjust the data in the spreadsheet.
4. Once selected, press enter and your selected cell will get removed and data will get adjusted.

Note: If you have your data in the table range format and you select any specific cell and press the Ctrl + - keys then it will delete that entire row not only that specific cell.
