To Close the Workbook:
Ctrl + W or Alt + F4
To Close Excel Application:
Alt → F → X
Steps to Close the Workbook(s) Using Keyboard Shortcut
- First, go to the workbook which you want to close out of the opened ones.
- After that, simply press the “Ctrl + W” keys or the “Alt + F4” keys and your current workbook will be closed.
- Or, go to any opened workbook and simply press the “Alt → F → X” keys in sequence and all the opened workbooks will get closed in one go.
In case you make any change in Excel like entering the value, changing or updating any cell, and miss saving the workbook before closing, it will ask you to close by saving the changes or without saving the changes.
