How to Add Word Art in Google Docs

  1. Open the Google document in which you want to insert the Word Art. 
  2. Then, go to the ‘Insert’ tab on the menu bar at the page’s top. Click on this Insert tab, and you will see a drop-down menu. Hover over the ‘Drawing’ section and click the ‘+New’ option. 
  3. Once you do that, a dialog box will appear. You will find a ‘Actions’ tab on the top left of this box. Click on it. 
  4. Next, select the ‘Word art’ option from the drop-down menu that appears. 
  5. All you need to do after this is type the text that you want to put and press ‘Enter.’
  6. If you want to customize your Word Art, Google Docs allows you to do that, too. Your Word Art is ready; you can add it to your Google Docs document. To do that:

  1. First, go to the document where you want to apply the Word Art. 
  2. Then, go to the ‘Insert’ tab on the top menu bar and click on it. This will open a drop-down menu.
  3. Go to the ‘Drawing’ option on this menu and hover over it. That will open up another smaller drop-down menu. On this menu, select the ‘New’ option. 
  4. You will now see a dialog box appear on your screen. In this dialog box, click on the ‘Text box’ icon. Then, you can draw a text box by clicking and dragging your mouse on the screen. 
  5. After that, you must type the text you want to insert in this text box. 
  6. Like always, Google Docs provides you with tools to format your text. You can use the formatting options and change your text’s color, size, or font. 
  7. If you want to add shapes to make your Word Art look even better, click the ‘Shape’ icon and choose a shape. You can right-click on the shape and change the order to make the Word Art.

When using Word Art in Google Docs, you have to be careful when printing the file. When you use colorful Word Art, remember that you need a color printer to get the document printed in its best state. 

Also, you might face alignment issues if you use the print option on Google Docs for printing. To avoid that, it is advisable that you first save the file as a PDF before you print it. Download the file as a PDF first to check if the alignment of the Word Art is fine. If not, readjust it and save the file as a PDF before printing it.
