What is the use of Excel AREA Function?
Use Excel AREAS Function to check numbers of areas in a reference. In simple words, It will return that how many areas you have included in a reference.
In above example, I have referred to 3 cells & get 3 in the result returned by areas function.
Syntax for Excel AREAS Function
reference A Reference to a cell or a range of cells.
More information on Excel AREAS Function
- If you want to refer to more than one cell reference, you have to enclose all that references in one more set of parentheses & use commas to separate each reference from other.
- Reference can be a cell or a range of cells.

In above example, I have used areas function to get the number reference in a named range.
